Audi’s Baby SUV Q1

Audi is currently working on the Q1 baby-SUV which will be based on the A1, expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show! For those who don't know, Audi A1 is set to enter production this October and hit the showrooms in Spring of 2010! After this will happen the German manufacturer will focus exclusively on the new SUV but the final product will be seen by 2013, which means that until then you can buy the new Audi Q3 which is going to be produced at the Seat's Martorell plant. Regarding the possible rivals of this vehicle we also found out that Mercedes-Benz will build the BLK, a smaller brother of the GLK. Now words about a possible competitor from BMW but you can be sure that the Bavarian manufacturer is going to have a response to these vehicles!
The Audi Q1 will be defined by a sober, similar look to the one of the Q3, Q5, and Q7. It will be available with engines from a 160 hp 1.4 TSI to a 2.0 TDI 140 bhp. Diesel will also play a strong role in the Q1’s future with a 1.2 Liter TDI cranking out 80 HP and a 1.6 Liter motor with outputs ranging from 100 to 120 HP. Prices will be higher than 22,000 euros for the two-wheel drive and 27,000 euros for the AWD version.
